Fire Hydrant Inspection Service
Falcon Fire Protection, Inc. performs inspection services on all private and public fire hydrants. Fire hydrants that are left out of service or are poorly maintained, can impair the fire departments ability to fight a fire when the water is needed most. We provide fire hydrant inspection services to inspect, test, and maintain all of the necessary components of a fire hydrant to ensure the water is available when needed.
The fire hydrant inspection process is conducted in accordance with NFPA 25 standards, including full water flow testing of the hydrant to ensure that all components are in prime working condition. We offer inspection programs geared to provide automatic periodic inspections required by NFPA 25 and the authority having jurisdiction.
Some of the annual procedures that we look for when performing fire hydrant inspections include:
- Hydrant is clear from external obstructions and is accessible.
- Hydrant is properly color-coded for the type of hydrant being inspected.
- Hydrant is opened fully and water is flowed until all foreign material has cleared.
- Hydrant is checked for proper water drainage from the barrel.
- Hydrant is checked and lubricated to ensure that all stems, caps, plugs, and threads are in proper operating condition.
